Biography

Jenny Medved is an award winning representational figurative artist based out of Sarasota, Florida. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Jenny moved to Florida in 2000 to obtain her BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art & Design. Jenny holds a MFA in Figurative Painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, where she studied under mentor's Zack Zdrale, and William Whitaker. Jenny also studied traditional portraiture at the Florence Academy of Art, in Florence, Italy.


Jenny is a member of the Hawaii Watercolor Society (HWS), the National Watercolor Society (NWS), a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society (FWS), American Artist Professional League and a master signature member as well as the 2020-22 President of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society (FSWS). 

She is currently working on a large body of work documenting Indigenous and Polynesian Cultures that carry on the native traditions of their families and ancestors. This includes native tribes and dancers from the mainland US, Canada and also includes the islands of Hawai'i, Samoa, Tahiti, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand, among others.
